NAoHN – our main objectives

  1. To provide a forum for nurses to analyze and evaluate the health care needs of the Hispanic community.
  2. To assess the safety and quality of health care delivery services to the Hispanic community.
  3. Assist as much as we can in providing at least used cars for all rural areas where our representatives work.
  4. To identify barriers to the delivery of health services to Hispanic consumers and recommend appropriate solutions to local, state, and federal agencies.
  5. To develop, test, and promote culturally sensitive models of intervention that provide effective nursing care for Hispanic communities.
  6. To disseminate research findings and policy perspectives related to Hispanic health care needs to local, state, and federal agencies in order to impact policy making and the allocation of resources.
  7. To collaborate with, and provide assistance to, other Hispanic health care professionals.
  8. To identify Hispanic nurses throughout the nation in order to monitor the size and growth of this group of health care professionals who may provide culturally sensitive nursing care to Hispanic consumers as well as mature dating services.
  9. To identify barriers to quality education for Hispanic nursing students and recommend appropriate solutions to state, local, and federal agencies.
  10. To work toward recruitment and retention of Hispanic students in nursing education programs, in order to increase the number of bilingual and bicultural nurses who may provide culturally sensitive nursing care to Hispanic consumers.
